Commercial Assistant – Shop (Temporary)

Bolton Talent Solutions is recruiting Commercial Assistants – Shop to support Front of House operations within on‑site retail at Bolton College.

This is a temporary role until the end of term, ideal for reliable and customer‑focused individuals seeking flexible daytime work. Candidates do not need to be available for all days or times, as multiple staff will be recruited and placed on a rota to provide up to 40 hours of cover per week overall.

Job Details

• Location: Bolton College
• Hours: Flexible shifts across the week (rota‑based)
• Total cover required: Up to 40 hours per week
• Contract: Temporary – until end of term 3rd July
• Pay: ?14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
  • ?12.71 base rate
  • ?1.53 holiday pay
• Start date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Operating a till and handling payments accurately
• Replenishing and merchandising stock
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the shop
• Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the outlet

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing role (retail or hospitality preferred)
• Confidence using a till and handling transactions
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
